What happens to the pennies after you display them?

All funds contributed to Change for a Penny will be donated or used to benefit organizations fighting AIDS in Africa. Since Change for  a Penny began money has been donated to:

How much do 19 million pennies weigh?

How much volume do 19 million pennies consume?

19 million pennies will consume a volume of approximately six feet by six feet by twelve feet, but if stacked one on top of the other would reach nearly 19 miles into the sky. Learn more.

Where will you display the pennies?

We will be displaying just over 6 million pennies at both the Democratic and the Republican National Conventions in late summer 2008. Since Change for a Penny was founded in 2005 over 6 million men, women, and children have died of HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa. We will also be displaying 19 million pennies on World AIDS Day 2008 in the Bay Area. We are always open to new places and ways to display the pennies so if you have ideas please e-mail info@gotcents.org
